Medical Tourism

is Booming in Mexico

Medical Tourism Magazine: Mexico has since opened its doors widely to medical travelers from around the world.

Patients Without Borders:  Mexico has in recent years come into its own as a global healthcare hub, offering patients an array of specialties and procedures that now begin to rival its competitor nations in Asia.

Paul McTaggart, CEO and founder of Dental Departures and former Expedia executive Star partnered with Patients Beyond Borders's unbiased content and clinic reviews, the partnership helps patients do the research necessary to identify high-quality dentistry options with discounts as high as 70%.

Why I Prefer to Get My Health Care in Latin America: "The U.S. health insurance policy I canceled when we left the states about a year ago covered my healthy wife and me with a $10,000 annual deductible.  The premium was scheduled to initially increase to over $600 per month and would skyrocket to well over $1,000 per month by now. In Mexico, my slightly better insurance, including coverage that extends to visits in the U.S., is about $200 per month. That extra $800 per month in my bank account is a nice lifestyle boost, especially in Mexico.

Medical Tourism is Booming in Mexico: "Tijuana, Mexicali, and other border towns continue to be popular for medical tourism, but Cancun, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta are increasingly common because they're known as tourist destinations among English-speakers, says Datta, who runs the Medical Tourism Corporation."
